Dr. Dollinger graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina-Asheville with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He then attended the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry, graduating with a DDS degree with honors. Upon graduation, Dr. Dollinger returned to the mountains of Western North Carolina to create a dental practice to reach out to those in the community he grew up.
He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Tabitha, for 20 years. They have two sons, Noah and Jason.
In Dr. Dollinger's free time he enjoys mentoring, playing basketball, and learning more about dentistry.

Dr. McChristian is happy to have served patients in the Hendersonville community for over 25 years. Born in Idaho, He was raised in Florida. He received his dental degree from the University of Florida, College of Dentistry 1981, where he had received a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy 4 years prior.
He had a general dental practice in Delray Beach, Florida for 10 years, before moving to Hendersonville in 1991. What a great move! In 2012, McChristian Dental opened on South Allen Road. McChristian Dental was purchased by Dr. Dollinger in the Summer of 2016 and is now Upwards Dental - Hendersonville Location.
As an active member of Henderson County Dental Society, the North Carolina Dental Association, The American Dental Association and the Carolina Mountain Study Club, He is committed to public oral health, ethics, science and professional development.
He has been happily married to Ann since 1982, and we have been blessed with three children and five grandchildren. The joy he experiences in life is directly connected to the relationship he and Ann have.
He enjoys crossfit, coaching high school football and experiencing this beautiful world that’s been given us.
An Asheville native, John Hoskins received his undergraduate degree in Biology from St. Lawrence University in 1977 and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 1987. He opened his private care dental practice in the fall of 1987. He has been at the current East Chestnut location in the heart of Asheville since 1998. Dr. Hoskins' practice was purchased by Dr. Dollinger in December of 2017 and is now Upwards Dental - Chestnut Location.
While building and developing his practice in Asheville, Dr. Hoskins began an educational journey to broaden his experience and enhance his knowledge base in order to keep abreast of new technology in his field and continue to provide state-of-the art dental care to his patients. His credentials include completion of the Management Program as well as the Mastery Program at the Schuster Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. During his years of study, he refined a patient-centered treatment model that puts a premium on developing a relationship with patients based on honesty, integrity, and trust. Dr. Hoskins is excited to now be apart of the Upwards Dental Family.
Dr. Hoskins is a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, which requires 500 hours of continuing education and passing an exam. He has also completed educational continuums with the OBI Foundation of Bioesthetic Dentistry, which involves three years of course work and presentations of a total oral rejuvenation. There are about 300 dentists in the U.S. who have completed this curriculum. Dr. Hoskins has also taken continuums with the Kois Center and The Dawson Academy. During his career, Dr. Hoskins has completed more than 1,000 hours of continuing education.

Dr. Hoskins has provided clients with a health-centered approach that focuses on the causes of dental disease to break the cycle of continued dental despair and repair. His path has led him to associate with some of the finest dentists in the country and their influences. These people include Dr. Michael Schuster, Dr. Bob Frazer, and Drs. Jim Benson and Chuck Wold with Orognatic Bioesthetics International (OBI). He prides himself as being a health-centered dentist who looks at the totality of a patient’s health, which includes the physical, dental, and emotional well being.
He is married to Laura A. Webb. They are devoted pet lovers with dogs and cats. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, and he and his wife enjoy a myriad of hobbies: hiking, biking, motorcycling and travel.
Dr. Hoskins will be retiring in August of 2019.
Dr. Buchanan graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine’s School of Dental Medicine in 2016. Prior to studying at LECOM, he attended the University of Georgia where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Dr. Buchanan is a family practice dentist who is passionate about providing the highest quality of care to his patients by providing treatment based on the fields leading academic principles and techniques. He strives to create a comfortable and enjoyable environment for the whole family as he partners with his patients to restore and maintain their goals of excellent oral health. Dr. Buchanan is an active member of the American Dental Association.
Originally from Kennesaw, Georgia, Dr. Buchanan and his wife, Jessica, now live in Asheville. They enjoy working on woodworking projects, traveling, watching Georgia football, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
Raised in High Point, North Carolina has always been a home for Dr. Anna Rodríguez. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A fluent Spanish speaker and compassionate caretaker, upon the completion of her undergraduate program, Dr. Rodríguez graduated from the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine and went on to attend a General Practice Residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Health Systems in Bronx, NY. Here, Dr. Rodríguez received advanced training in oral surgery, root canal therapy, implant restorations, crowns, and bridges, as well as further experience in the management of severely immunocompromised patients.
As an active member of the American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Society, Dr. Rodríguez’s philosophy, as a provider, is based on preventive dentistry and delivering quality-focus care. She passionately believes that every patient deserves to be educated on their dental health and how it applies and contributes to their health overall. One of her favorite aspects about practicing is reflected in the excited eyes of her patients as they journey with her, ever closer to achieving their dream smile!
During her free time Dr. Rodríguez enjoys traveling, experiencing and learning about different cultures, trying new foods in new places, taking in the fresh air on a new hiking trail, going to the cinema, and generally spending time outdoors, all with her lovable dog, Dexter, and her significant other, Dr. Carter, by her side.
Born & Bred in Greensboro, NC, Dr. Carter is no stranger to his home state. Though he may be more partial to Royal Blue than the lighter shade, as a Duke alumnus, Dr. Carter has always had a soft spot in his heart for all of his fellow natives and recent residents.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology & Neuroscience from Duke, Dr. Carter graduated from the East Carolina School of Dental Medicine and went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the Bronx-Lebanon Health Center in New York.
One of Dr. Carter’s main goals is to grow together with his patients. He is dedicated to continuing education and has a passion for learning so that his patients can receive the most current and, not only adequate but exceptional care available. A self-labeled, “life-long-learner, Dr. Carter’s ever-growing dispensary of dental knowledge is an attribute he frequently draws upon to care for and help improve the lives and smiles of his patients, as well as his loved ones.
The western part of NC has always been a luring draw for Dr. Carter as he enjoys the unfiltered sunlight offered by Asheville’s elevation and closer proximity to the skies. In moving to Asheville along with his significant other, Dr. Rodríguez, and their dog, Dexter, Dr. Carter plans to start building. Building a family, a life, and a connection to the community in which he hopes to not only serve, but become a contributing member of The humbling, scenic views, fall foliage, fresh mountain air, and welcomingly diverse population all serve in contribution to Dr. Carter’s elation with the honor of becoming a citizen of such a burgeoning city!
